Having won three of their four Twenty20 fixtures at this month’s Country Challenge to book a spot in the January 19 final, the Thunder have made just three changes to their squad ahead of one-day games against Wide Bay and Darling Downs on November 9-10 respectively.
With wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Yiend (Alberton Ormeau) and all-rounders Wade Kilborn (Southport Labrador) and Shane Connors (Alberton Ormeau) left out, the Coast outfit has called in Burleigh pair Jimmy Spargo and Aidan Crayton, as well as Mudgeeraba Nerang gloveman Mitch Daly, for the trip to Ipswich’s Ivor Marsden Oval.

Country Challenge results counted towards the Schaeffer Shield standings, with players also pushing for spots in the South Queensland team to be named after the November 10 one-dayers.
