FAMILY FORTUNE INSPIRES ROWER’S HEAD OF THE RIVER TILT
Wind wreaked havoc at Wyaralong Dam on Saturday and forced the cancellation of 11 races as TSS was battered early by large swell during the open eight race.
TSS coach Cameron Kennedy said his crew would make no excuses for the fourth-place finish and predicted his squad would bounce back quickly as they chase a record 22nd Head of the River crown.
“It was a pretty disappointing result,” he said. “The fact that we got only one race meant we couldn’t redeem ourselves. We went out afterwards for a training session and experimented in the conditions so I think they’ll be more prepared should we encounter something similar.”
HOW TSS PLAN TO TAKE DOWN KINGS OF GPS ROWING
TSS will complete a further seven sessions this week as they prepare to chase one final burst of speed ahead of Head of the River this Saturday.
“We won’t be doing the volume we’ve done during the season,” Kennedy said.
“We’ll be working on the little things to maximise their confidence and skills.
“The bulk of our work is done, we will just focus on tidying.”
