While TSS are two wins away from their first premiership since 2017, Terrace lost their first five games of the season before breaking through for a 43-12 thumping of Brisbane Grammar School last week.

Coming off a nailbiting 23-20 win over fellow unbeaten side Brisbane Boys’ College, TSS will lift the trophy with success against Terrace (away) and Ipswich Grammar (home) in their final two fixtures.

But Wallace knows victory in today’s 2.15pm encounter at Tennyson is far from assured.

“Gregory Terrace are a proud school with a long tradition of rugby excellence and we’re playing them up at their home ground, which is always a really hard place to play. Our boys will be acutely aware of that and they’ll have to work really hard,” Wallace said.

“(Talk of a premiership) is not an issue for us, that’s not something that we’ll be addressing at all. What we’ve been focusing on is the next job and the next job has been for the boys to get their exams right (during the week).

“That’s the first thing and then the second thing is focusing on improving (last week’s) performance so we’re good enough when we go and challenge Gregory Terrace.

“The boys have had to manage themselves through the week - we had a lot of bumps and bruises out of (the BBC game) – and recover so they can focus on their academics, get that done and then prepare for (Terrace).”
