EMOTIONAL TOLL OF COVID-19 ON OLYMPIC HOPEFULS
Overall the Spartans collected eight gold, four silver and one bronze medal at the championships, which joined a handful of personal bests and national qualifying performances on an action-packed weekend.
Somerset athletics head coach Mark Ladbrook said the results earlier this month indicated the Spartans’ athletics program would be one to watch in the future.
“With so many outstanding performances achieved the Spartan athletics program is on the rise and I look forward to continuing to build the program with the fantastic support of the student athletes, their parents and of course all our outstanding coaches,” he said.
“It was also fantastic to see some of our Somerset College alumni continuing to compete in the sport years after their student days at Somerset.
