IN the latest edition of the Round Ball Round Up podcast, Gold Coast Premier League legend Chris Broadfoot discusses his new role on the Football Gold Coast board, his comeback hopes with Surfers Paradise and reuniting with former Knights teammate Teddy Watson.
The 37-year-old said his focus was to finish as the Premier League’s top goalscorer as Surfers look to improve on last year’s preliminary final exit.
“I do (have goals). I think you have to otherwise you’re just turning up with no real plan,” the former Gold Coast United A-League striker said.
“I think in life you have to have a plan or a goal to try and achieve and mine is to finish winning the Golden Boot this year. I don’t know how much I’ll play or how the body holds up but I’ve set the target of 20 goals for myself and hopefully that’s enough to get me as close as possible.
“I’d be over the moon (if I could do that). It’d be a big ask - we play 21 games this year and I’m probably not going to be playing 90 minutes every week - but if we can build a good team and create a lot of chances like we did last year hopefully I can get on the end of them.”
