SURFERS Paradise flexed their FFA Cup muscle today to move into the fourth round with a 9-1 thrashing of Brisbane Knights at Lex Bell Oval.

Round of 32 participants in 2016, Apollo ran riot against the Knights as Seb Buckenham, Chris Broadfoot and Zac Kallinikos all bagged doubles.

EAGLES SATISFIED WITH DOLPHINS DRAW

Nick Hulme, Teddy Watson and Hayden Sumner also got on the scoresheet.

Burleigh Heads will join them in the next stage after surviving extra time to beat Toowong 4-3, but Mudgeeraba bowed out of the competition with a 4-0 loss away to Caboolture.

The Surfers and Burleigh victories capped a good weekend for Gold Coast teams in the cup, with Coomera (3-0 against Acacia Ridge), Southport (5-2 against The Lakes), Palm Beach (3-1 against Caloundra) and Robina City (7-1 against Centenary Stormers) all enjoying wins.

DOLPHINS PREVAIL IN GRAND FINAL REMATCH

In Coast League One action on Saturday, Kingscliff edged Pacific Pines 2-1, Runaway Bay disposed of Murwillumbah 5-1, and Musgrave beat Coomera 4-1.
