TYLER Roos’ shift into the midfield for Southport has him gunning to become the NEAFL’s MVP.
Roos sits just two points behind current MVP leader James Rowbottom (42 votes) from Sydney after polling three votes in Southport’s 12.6 (78) to 9.9 (63) loss to the Gold Coast Suns last weekend.
Roos, who collected 37 disposals in the Sharks loss to Gold Coast, picked up three votes to inch closer to Rowbottom, who didn’t poll due to Sydney having the bye.
Matt Shaw (36) holds third on the leaderboard despite not polling a vote in his return from a hamstring injury.
