SOUTHPORT coach Trent Gregson believes his squad is building nicely for a Brisbane Women’s Premier League finals charge as it chases a fifth-straight win against Taringa today.
Having struggled for consistency in the opening rounds of the season, the Warriors have climbed into fourth place after finding their groove over the past four rounds.
A 14-0 thumping of North Brisbane early last month kickstarted their run, with 3-2 wins following against Peninsula Power, Ipswich City and Broadbeach United.

Their defeat of the Dolphins at Nikiforides Family Park last Sunday came courtesy of a last-gasp Kristina Dimovski penalty and Gregson said it had provided the impetus for another successful outing away to Taringa at 5pm.
“The ladies played really well (last week),” Gregson said.
“The team’s link up play was flawless at times and they dominated the middle of the park. Our captain, Lisa Stutz, led by example and set the tone throughout.”
On honeymoon in the UK, Coomera coach Archy Kahondo will be absent when the seventh-placed Colts host Annerley at 5pm.
Their eight-game unbeaten run came to an end with a 2-1 loss to University of Queensland last weekend, but Kahondo said it was a step in the right direction after falling 4-0 when the sides met in Round 1.
