THROUGHOUT her three team QBL career, Rollers co-captain Sarah Ambrose has experienced the best of QBL finals basketball.
From a semi-final with Logan in 2017 and a quarter the year prior, Ambrose has been in the thick of it before.
But none of her previous finals forays stack up to 2019.
“In terms of expectation and team chemistry as a team, I can’t think of a better team to push into finals with,” she said.
“Throughout the season, not many expected us to do as well as we have and I don’t think many except ourselves tipped us to beat Logan last weekend.”

On Saturday night the Gold Coast Rollers play the Townsville Flames up north for a spot in the grand final, just two years after the club failed to win a game all season.
Despite having cracked the winning formula in their 73-69 win over the Logan Thunder last week, Ambrose said the team had made some slight adjustments as they prepare to make amends for their round nine, 15 point loss to Townsville.

“If you look at the game, we were up at half time but then they made some adjustments that we didn’t adjust to,” she said.
“We’re a better team now.
“We had a really good week at practice and brought a few new things in to try and change things up.
“We’re going in as underdogs but we’re fine with that and it adds a fire to our belly.”
The game kicks off 7pm on Saturday night and can be livestreamed.
