RUNAWAY Bay Rugby League Club will tonight host a memorial service to celebrate the life of former player Javarn Nofoagatotoa, who died last week.
Affectionately known as Jah, Nofoagatotoa was originally from New Zealand before arriving on the Gold Coast and playing rugby league for Runaway Bay and rugby union for the Gold Coast Eagles.
A post on the Eagles Facebook page expressed the heartache of those who knew the former Coombabah State High student.
“He was one of a kind with the biggest heart for all, the greatest smile, the biggest hits on and off the field and always gave all of that heart to our club and his brothers,” the post read.
“As a family, there is always support and we urge to speak out if you are struggling with any matter of your life. The club family is here for you no matter what you are going through along with numerous other support networks.”
Tonight’s service begins at Runaway Bay at 6pm.
