TOWNSVILLE coach Rod Anderson has bitten back at claims the Rollers are the “hottest team in the QBL” right now, pointing to his side’s own winning run as proof.
In a friendly war of words, Anderson responded to Gold Coast coach Mick Conlon’s claim that his side is peaking in the state basketball league.
“They’ve won 4 games in a row... we have won 5 but what do i know – either way, it will be a great game this weekend and I’m sure the full house sign will come out again,” Anderson tweeted.
“For the record, Logan are the hottest team with 7 straight wins and to me they are a MASSIVE threat quietly going about their business in the south.” Following his side’s big win over Toowoomba on Sunday night, which booked the Rollers’ playoff entry for the first time in five years, Conlon told the Bulletin: “You can beat anyone. We peaked at the right time and we are the hottest team in the league at the moment.”
He yesterday added that “Mackay/Townsville/Logan are all clearly the top teams.”
