Premier League match abandoned due to serious head injury

A Gold Coast Premier League match has been abandoned due to head injury.

The Gold Coast Premier League match between the Coomera Colts and Nerang Eagles has been abandoned after Nerang’s Koki Miyasaka sustained a serious head injury.

Coomera were up 1-0 when the incident occurred, forcing the game to be stopped.

Miyasaka has been in rare form for the Eagles and played one of his best matches for the club earlier this month against Mudgeeraba.

The game will be replayed at a future date.

In other premier league news, Burleigh Heads football club will stay on top of the Gold Coast Premier League table after downing Tweed United 2-0.

After conceding a 10-1 score line the first time the sides met earlier this season, the young Marlins certainly impressed in their second crack at the ladder leaders.

Matt Hilton scored both goals for Burleigh as the Bulldogs return to the winners list after three straight losses.

In Gold Coast League one action, Broadbeach made it two in a row with a 5-2 win over Pacific Pines Football club while Musgrave prevailed over Kingscliff 3-2.
