MUDGEERABA coach Jamie Boelen has called on his underfire troops to prove they have the desire for Premier League success when they make the trip to Nerang tomorrow.
The Wallabies were woeful in a 6-0 loss to Coomera last Sunday, kicking off the new campaign in worrying style after collecting last season’s wooden spoon.
Boelen, who has taken over the coaching post from Fraser Cuba, has spent the off-season fighting to assemble a competitive squad and challenged the players to lift against the Eagles, who are coming off a 3-2 loss to Surfers Paradise.

“It’s been a tough rebuilding phase for us and obviously it showed (last week),” Boelen said.
“(We have to) get together as a team, work hard, show a bit more commitment, a bit more desire and actually look like you want to be on the park. My boys just looked like they didn’t want to be there (against Coomera) and I’m shocked really.”
Today, Tweed United, who held Broadbeach to a 2-2 draw in Round 1, host another title heavyweight in Surfers Paradise at 4pm.
The Marlins fought back from 2-0 down to secure a point from their trip north last weekend, but coach Dean Milosevic said the hard work had only just begun.

“We want to be consistent, we want to play the same style of football (against Surfers),” Milosevic, who coached Murwillumbah to the 2013 Premier League title, said.
“We want to play hard, we want to get stuck in. People know that when I get a team that it’s going to be tough. It doesn’t matter where I go.”
Coomera will travel to Palm Beach, who fell 3-1 to Burleigh last weekend, at 4pm today.
