MATT NOBLE (BURLEIGH HEADS)
TEAM TO BEAT: It’s a difficult one because everybody wants to beat the team that won the league. We’re just concentrating on beating Surfers so I think they would have to be the team to beat for us. They beat us once during the season and all the games we played against them have been quite entertaining. They try to play the game the right way and there’s been plenty of goals.
WHY BURLEIGH CAN WIN IT: Why not? Somebody is going to have to win it and I think out of all the teams we’re probably the in-form team at the moment. Being champions has set us up well going in the finals.
CUP SET FOR LAUNCH AHEAD OF CRUCIAL NPL CLASH
BURLEIGH’S FINALS X-FACTOR: Obviously Matt Hilton with his goalscoring record, he’s always going to be a threat. But I think it’s important we look after Teddy Watson (against Surfers) so I think our two centre defenders, James Ellins and Ryoto Kondo, will be key. They have been excellent for us all season.
RIVAL PLAYER TO WATCH: Teddy Watson (Surfers) and Matt Hilton would be a lethal combination up front. Obviously Teddy is a handful and a hard one to play against.
BRUNO RODRIGUEZ (SURFERS PARADISE)
TEAM TO BEAT: Burleigh are definitely the team to beat. They only lost two games all year and have been the most consistent team this season.
WHY SURFERS CAN WIN IT: I think we are capable of beating anyone on the day. We have proven it by beating Burleigh 3-0 at their home ground and I think we are capable of doing it again.
COAST HOMECOMING FOR ROAR STAR REARDON
SURFERS’ FINALS X-FACTOR: Teddy Watson. He scores goals, which is why he’s the top goalscorer in the league. He can create his own chances and he is also very capable of creating chances for those around him.
RIVAL PLAYER TO WATCH: Will Asante (Coomera). He’s a class player, very well-rounded and can play anywhere in the park.
LEON BELL (BROADBEACH UNITED)
TEAM TO BEAT: Burleigh have looked good this year and the league table doesn’t lie.
WHY BROADBEACH CAN WIN IT: We have been here before, hopefully we can use that experience.
‘I JUST DON’T THINK THERE’S ENOUGH TALENT OUT THERE’
BROADBEACH’S FINALS X-FACTOR: Shaun Robinson. He’s a stalwart of Gold Coast football and you can always count on him in key moments of the game.
RIVAL PLAYER TO WATCH: This is a dark horse but David Mutch from Burleigh. I like him, he can bring different elements going forward.
MARK INGERSON (COOMERA)
TEAM TO BEAT: The team to beat has to be Burleigh. They have shown over the season how consistent they are and how dangerous they can be in front of goal.
WHY COOMERA CAN WIN IT: We have proven that we can match it with all of the final teams in the season and with our FFA Cup run, we have shown on a one-off game we bring something else to the table.
FOOTBALL GOLD COAST RESPONDS TO SEQ PREMIER LEAGUE TALK
COOMERA’S FINALS X-FACTOR: Having Will Asante back with the team is massive. He was in the Team of the Year last year and he is great all over the park. Other teams will fear him and know just how dangerous he can be going forward.
RIVAL PLAYER TO WATCH: Matt Hilton (Burleigh). We would love to have a consistent striker. Mitch Robinson has been unlucky again this season through injury and we have missed his goals. Having the big man up top would be fantastic.
