GOLD Coast have cemented their place in the Katherine Raymont Shield play-offs with a comfortable win against University of Queensland.
It was the Dolphins’ younger bowlers who did the damage on Sunday, dismissing the last placed squad for 163 as Grace Parsons took 3-23 from six overs of leg-spin.
Hiruni Liyanarachchi Don (3-31) and Carly Fuller (2-6) were also excellent.
Gold Coast stumbled early in reply at WEP Harris Oval in St Lucia, falling to 3-35 including star all-rounder Sammy-Jo Johnson trudging back to the pavilion for a rare duck.
However, Hobart Hurricanes wicketkeeper-bat Georgia Redmayne stood up once again, backing up her unbeaten 98 last week with a splendid 84-ball 95 to guide Gold Coast to a five-wicket victory with 19 overs to spare.
Redmayne almost celebrated a hundred; with four to win and a six needed for her ton, she was caught on the boundary.
She now has 390 runs at 97.5 for the club this season.
The Dolphins will host Western Suburbs at Bill Pippen Oval next Sunday in the last round of the regular season before finals begin.
