GOLD Coast United are hopeful their temporary move into Tallebudgera’s Coplick Family Sports Park will become permanent next month as they wait on a decision from Gold Coast City Council.
Still searching for a home a year on from their rebirth, United have been given Council approval to train at Coplicks, which includes three football and two baseball fields, ahead of a likely answer in December on whether they can move in fulltime.
If successful, United would set up a three-field training base and administration headquarters at the site.

The club’s under-18, 20s and men’s teams held their first training sessions under lights at the facility on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, Nerang Eagles’ Academy Of Football Australia will use the Italo Australian Club as an interim off-season training venue after striking a deal.
With Glennon Park unavailable for several months as Council work to repair the field, Nerang Premier League coach Dave Benigno - a former stalwart at the now-defunct Merrimac club that operated out of the Italo Australian Club - has been a vital figure in brokering an agreement.

The AFA has proven a strong feeder academy for the Eagles’ top side.
“The Italo Australian Club has allowed us to utilise the premises while Nerang is closed for scheduled council rest period,” Benigno said.
“This opportunity will really help us prepare for a solid pre season with the great facilities they still have here.”
