Alberton Ormeau and Southport Labrador were due to play the title decider at the home of AFL club Gold Coast Suns on Saturday before the wet weather ensured a ball wasn’t bowled by either team.

Event organiser Peter Goodchap said he would work with stadium officials to try and lock in a new date for the match in the coming days.
“It will be rescheduled but we don’t have a date set yet,” Goodchap said.
“We will be speaking with Metricon Stadium operators in the next few days to work out a possible date for the replay.
“If we can’t get it at Metricon then we will play it somewhere else but we hope it is played there as the facility itself is brilliant.
“Even on Saturday the field was relatively unaffected. If it stopped raining at 6.30pm it would have been right to play at 7pm.
“The pitch was in excellent condition. They have been preparing it and covering it each day. “It looked fantastic and so did the outfield. It was just a shame it was continually raining.”
