THE Gold Coast Cyclones remain winless in the Queensland Country Championships following a 24-point loss to Darling Downs at Palm Beach on Saturday.
Entering their second game on the back of a 55-22 loss to Sunshine Coast a week earlier, the Cyclones never got going as the visitors ran out 34-10 winners.
BULLETIN’S GCDRU TEAM OF THE YEAR
The Cyclones had been bolstered by the inclusion of former Wallaby Richard Kingi at flyhalf and six of his Griffith University Colleges teammates, but they could not steer the Coast outfit to victory.
The Cyclones will now face Cairns at Ballymore (September 7) and Townsville in Townsville (September 14) in their final two fixtures.
