THE Gold Coast basketball community is mourning the loss of one of their most popular figures.
Jean Littman passed away earlier this week after a 15-month battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Littman was a major contributor to the North Gold Coast Seahawks, filling the role of treasurer from 2011-2016 and also managing accounts as a member of staff from 2011–2017.
She was also heavily involved in the club’s junior Seahawks program, taking on assistant coaching roles.

“Those that knew Jean knew of her passion for fitness and this was another area that she assisted our young athletes, providing a variety of conditioning programs,” the club posted.
“Many of Jean’s grandchildren played within our association over many years where she also coached within our junior domestic competition.”
Sue Hancock was among those who hailed Littman on Facebook: “So sorry to hear this. Jean was a wonderful, inspirational lady who will be sadly missed. My heart felt condolences to her family.”
A ‘Celebration of Life’ memorial will be held Thursday at 11.30am at Allambe Memorial Park, Parkview Chapel, Nerang-Broadbeach Road, Nerang.
Dress code is colourful and will be followed by a drink in her honour at Emerald Lakes Golf Club.
