Gold Coast Stingrays Under-19s have been forced from the field as a passing storm blanketed Sunshine Coast Stadium in hail.

The team were moments away from kick-off against the Bayside Ravens when the storm struck.

Spectator Paul Mills described the field as Queensland’s latest ski resort.

Earlier, Stingrays Juniors booked their place in the Sunbowl with a 58-0 thrashing of the Logan Bengals.

The Stingrays Men and Women’s sides bombed out of the finals yesterday.
