A FIVE-wicket haul from Wade Kilborn has helped Southport Labrador claw their way back into their Kookaburra Cup clash with ladder leaders Mudgeeraba Nerang.
In a replay of last month’s Twenty20 final, Mudgeeraba was bowled out for 172 at GUGC Oval before the Tigers reached 1-27 at stumps.
Bushmen batsmen Kevin Chapman (55) and Josh Nelson (32) had threatened to take the game away from the hosts with a 67-run third-wicket stand before the former was run out to leave the score at 3-118.

Chapmen’s departure sparked a collapse of 5-25, with Kilborn (5-41 from 25 overs) and Oli McGee (3-59) doing the bulk of the damage.
Zac Gayfer (20) was the only other Mudgeeraba batsman to reach 20.
Southport was then forced to navigate an 11-over spell before stumps, with Chris Perry falling to Brad Munro shortly before the close after making just one from 24 balls.
