Gold Coast’s most decorated player, Olympian legend. Has to be included on anyone’s list. Stalwart for the Opals, Jenny represented at two Olympics and three world championships.

MEGAN THOMPSON

Tough as nails guard who got the most out of her ability. Megan played overseas and distinguished herself both in the WNBL and was the MVP of the Queensland state league.

GRETEL TIPPETT

 Gretel Tippett, 14, was selected in the Australian under 19 basketball team.
Gretel Tippett, 14, was selected in the Australian under 19 basketball team.

Now starring in netball’s national league and for the Diamonds, she was an incredible junior who made state and national teams. Gretel was a natural of the game and her brothers also had sparkling basketball careers.

JACKIE LEAR

Played college ball and starred for University of California where she set several records as a guard. Currently Queensland Basketball junior coach.

KAREN OSTROUHOFF

First Gold Coast junior to make it to WNBL level. Karen was a tough player that played better the harder the game got. Currently coaching on the Gold Coast and continues to pass on her knowledge.
