TWO leading Currumbin players will transition into off-field roles as the Eagles prepare to take on a younger vibe for the 2019 Rugby League Gold Coast A-grade season.

The Galleon Way club enjoyed a stellar year in which they took a cleansweep of the minor premierships across A-grade, reserve grade and under-19s.

That translated into an under-19 title, with their top team exiting in the preliminary final.

Having been branded an older squad at A-grade level, the Eagles hope to see some of their promising youth push up – especially with roster vacancies created by Blake Morrison and Dayne Weston.

Ryan Gundry is back as coach for a third season and confirmed Morrison and Weston will solely operate in conditioning capacities, with the latter also to offer player mentoring. Weston played 80 NRL matches across stints at Cronulla, North Queensland, Penrith and Melbourne between 2007 and 2015.

Gundry added signing news was in the works as the club strives to ensure they become regular silverware contenders.

Currumbin will start their pre-season next month.
