Coomera to play NPL side Mackay and Whitsundays in FFA Cup’s Round of 32

GOLD Coast Premier League side Coomera has tonight learned its FFA Cup Round of 32 opponent ahead of its debut in the national round next month.

GOLD Coast Premier League side Coomera will face fellow Queensland outfit Mackay and Whitsundays Magpies Crusaders United in the FFA Cup’s Round of 32.

Broadcast live on Fox Sports, the draw for the first national round took place at 7.30pm tonight, with the Colts drawn to face the NPL Queensland outfit in Mackay.

Coomera, who continued their remarkable cup run with a 2-1 win over Logan Lightning in Round 7 this month, have already beaten NPL side Redlands United during their six-game winning streak.

They could have faced one of the 10 A-League sides, six of which will now face each other.

Round of 32 fixtures will be played on three match days between July 23 and August 7.

Meanwhile, Tuesday night’s Premier League catch-up fixture between Palm Beach and Tweed United at Mallawa Sports Complex was postponed due to weather.

The NPL derby between Gold Coast United and Gold Coast Knights at Tallebudgera on Saturday night is also likely to be rescheduled.
