IN this week’s Round Ball Round Up podcast, Gold Coast Knights president Adrian Puljich talks about his motivation for rebuilding the club, NPL hopes and long-term plans for the Croatian Sports Centre.
Despite being held to a 1-1 draw against Mackay and Whitsundays in their NPL debut last Saturday, Puljich said the Knights’ expectations remained high.
“Obviously the Gold Coast Knights for quite some years now has had that ambition and drive to ensure we’re at the top of whatever league we’re playing in and that’s now no different in the state league,” Puljich said.
“We’ve obviously recruited well in the off-season and still some players lurking in the wings that we’re considering depending on injuries and what have you.
“Finalisation of the squad will occur in the coming weeks but generally speaking the facilities that we’ve put down there at the Knights, and what we’re doing in general, is to breed a winning culture.
“I think if we’re going to create a genuine player pathway and give parents who are investing big money in their kids to play NPL football, you need to have a winning mentality. It’s all about the brand.”
