BROADBEACH Robina are the 2018-19 Kookaburra Cup champions after downing minor premiers Alberton Ormeau by six wickets at Robina.

Chasing 119 for victory at Bill Pippen Oval today, the Cats cruised home on the back of knocks from top-order pair Ben O'Connell (25) and Tom Scriven (32).

Corey Galloway, Nick Yule, Shane Connors and Travis Bischoff were the wicket-takers for Alberton Ormeau, who were bowled out for 118 this morning following Matthew Yiend’s lone hand of 56.

Scriven also took 7-43 with the ball to be named man of the match.

It is Broadbeach’s first premiership since winning back-to-back titles in 2011-12 and 2012-13.
