THE Broadbeach Cats have been bundled out of the QAFL finals, losing to Morningside by 35 points in the minor semi-final.
The Cats took a two-point lead into the first break of the must-win game but that was as good as it got at Jack Esplen Oval on Sunday, with Broadbeach going behind in the second quarter and never recovering in the 15.9 (99) to 9.9 (63) loss.
It brings their 2019 campaign to a close two games short of the grand final they made in 2018.
Broadbeach coach Beau Zorko went into the finals with a realistic mindset, knowing a top-five finish was a solid base to build from for a club that introduced a new coach and had a huge turnover of players at the end of 2018.
