AMY Riddell and Tara Wheeler have combined to lead Gold Coast to a crushing Katherine Raymont Shield win over Wests and maintain the Dolphins’ position atop the one-day ladder.
Entering today’s grand final rematch with four wins from their first five 50-over outings, the Dolphins rolled the reigning champions for just 152 inside 32 overs as Wheeler (4-43) and Riddell (3-30) ran riot.

Opening the batting, former captain Riddell then showed off her all-round prowess with a knock of 74 form 60 balls that included 15 fours.
Together with Rebecca van Helvoirt (30), they put on 104 for the first wicket before captain Belinda McDougall (25 not out) and Carly Fuller (15 not out) helped finish the job with eight wickets and more than 24 overs to spare.

With top-four rivals Sandgate-Redcliffe, University of Queensland and Ipswich-Logan still within touching distance, the victory keeps the Dolphins’ minor premiership hopes on track.
