Reeling from their first loss of the Langer Trophy campaign, Palm Beach Currumbin will no doubt look to their x-factor young men to inspire a quickfire turnaround.
Michael Roberts appears destined to be that man.
Blessed with electric speed to rival that of his brother — former State of Origin centre James — Roberts and his team will be out to prove their two-point loss to Ipswich was an anomaly.
They will get the chance to prove that on Wednesday when they clash with Mabel Park, with the contest to be livestreamed here through KommunityTV.
Palm Beach Currumbin were shell-shocked last week, after bursting out of the blocks to lead 16-0, only to then cave as Ipswich mounted an inspired comeback.
LANGER RESERVES REPLAY: PBC v MABEL PARK
However with the likes of Roberts among the red and white army, PBC coach Tim Maccan has the attacking spark capable of breaking their campaign open in an instant.
It is something the teenage utility has proven throughout his schoolboys career, as shown last year when his side charged to the Phil Hall Cup.

Whether Roberts plays at centre, fullback, wing or five-eighth, the Australian schoolboys star has game breaking potential all over him, but Maccan said it would be what goes on in his mind that sets him up for a fruitful rugby league career.
“He’s very smart between the ears in regards to football. If he’s playing in the halves or at fullback just his ability to read the game and understand what needs to be done is really good,” Maccan said.
“When you throw him at the opposition where the team needs him to be a runner as opposed to organiser then he’s really good to adapt that way as well.
“I think the thing that I’m really impressed with Michael about that gets him noticed is his defensive efforts. He’s a really solid defender and he’s regularly making the right decision in his defence which helps out.
“I think because he’s played so many positions in the backline it might be the next year or so exactly where he goes.
“I’m not even sure where his best position is, I think the fact he can play anywhere from one to six is a real strength for him and a real advantage.”
PBC and Mabel Park’s Langer Trophy contest will kick off from 5pm on Wednesday.
