The best young footballers in action at the Premier Invitational football tournament (Premier Invitational )

News Corp is livestreaming more than 80 matches from the Premier Invitational this weekend. These are some of the young stars in action on the Gold Coast.

Premier Invitational Gold Coast Football Highlights

Look for the Sam Kerr backflips and Tim Cahill boxing celebrations as the next generation of Matildas and Socceroos stars strut their stuff on the big stage at the Premier Invitational this weekend.

The Premier Invitational began in 2012 as the brainchild of Magic United TFA with the goal of bringing junior players together for a festival of football on the Gold Coast.

News Corp will bring its subscribers 86 matches over three jam-packed match days beginning Friday, October 1.

These are just a handful of the uber-talented young players to watch for on the livestream:

Hibiki Tomioka

Age: 13

Team: Gold Coast Knights U13s

Position: Central Midfielder

A coach’s favourite player for his incredible workrate and do-it-all skillset. A true box-to-box midfielder, Tomioka is technically sound on both sides of his body and is dangerous in front of goal when he goes forward. He’s also one of the first to get back and provide assistance to his defenders. A true teammate and star.

Sebastian Carrabino

Age: 13

Team: Gold Coast Knights U13s

Position: Striker

When you’re likened to Luis Suarez you know you’re doing something right. A player hungry for scoring goals, Carrabino loves to pickpocket defenders. He’s adept on both sides of his body and can score a goal from any area and angle on the field.

Cole Fenton

Age: 13

Team: Gold Coast Knights U13s

Position: Centre Back

The complete prototypical modern centre-half. Fenton can dominated opponents in the air and on the ground, has a strong physical presence and wouldn’t look out of place in midfield with his ball playing ability. Also played U14s at Knights this season.

Louis Williams

Age: 14

Team: Gold Coast Knights U14s

Position: Winger

The left-footer is a demon down the right wing for the Knights’ U14s, creating a plethora of scoring opportunities for his teammates and himself in the front third. Williams won the team’s best and fairest award this season. He loves to take the game on and has a habit of scoring goals for fun.

Dario Jagodic

Age: 14

Team: Gold Coast Knights U14s

Position: Midfielder

“Elegant” is how Dario’s movement and work with the ball is described by those who know him best. Another box-to-box midfielder who plays with a football IQ that belies his young age.

Christian Mladenis

Age: 15

Team: Gold Coast Knights U15s

Position: Striker

Rated as one of the best players in the Knights’ Academy at any age, Mladenis has taken his game to another level in 2021. The 15-year-old also plays with the Knights’ U18s side, such is his talent. A left-footed striker with exceptional technical ability.

Age: 13s

Team: Magic United U13s

Position: Goalkeeper

A modern shotstopper who not only keeps the ball out of his own net, but helps set up counterplay with great vision and a quality passing game.

Luca Nakagama

Age: 13

Team: Magic United U13s

Position: Striker

The golden boot winner in Magic’s Junior Premier League title run, Nakagama uses his pace and physicality to engineer scoring chances in and outside the box. He can score from headers, set plays and create for himself. A true threat around goal.

Joel Hunter

Age: 13

Team: Magic United U13s

Position: Centre Back

Another staple in the Magic United U13s JPL-winning team, Hunter is another centre-half who follows the modern trend of ball-playing defenders. He’s one of the best in his age group and turning defence into attack and his timing in the tackle is fantastic.
