2025 FNQRL live stream: Watch the women’s semi-finals double header live

Can Yarrabah keep making history or will a plucky Roosters rise to the occasion? Also who is on the FNQRL women's finals chopping block? Watch the semi-finals LIVE on Saturday.

Yarrabah have already made history once this FNQRL season, and they are ready to do it again as the women’s semi-finals kick off this weekend.

The Seahawks, fresh off winning the club’s first ever women’s minor premiership, will headline the opening week of the finals when they clash with Atherton Roosters for a spot in the grand final.

Meanwhile in the elimination final, Ivanhoes Iron Maidens will take on reigning premiers Kangaroos.

The semi-finals will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV back-to-back from Jones Park.

Atherton captain Mayleen Oppermann, Yarrabah prop Khandra Stafford, Ivanhoe winger Angel Hoare and Roos vice-captain Rachel Abednego will meet at Jones Park on Saturday to decide who will play in the FNQRL grand final, and who will meet in the do or die clash on Saturday week. The Seahawks only dropped two games all season, and storm into the finals off the back of a 38-point win over fellow finalists Kangaroos last weekend.

Prop Khandra Stafford said it was a “good feeling” to be part of Yarrabah’s first ever team to claim the minor premiership, but said the focus now is on going all the way.

“We’ve been in the finals before, so we know what it’s like. Hopefully we can take it home this year,” she said.

But any thought of the big dance will need to be put on ice at Seahawks HQ as they face a plucky Roosters outfit determined to go one better than its grand final appearance last year.

“There’s a lot of nerves among the group, a few questions going around in the group chat,” Roosters captain Mayleen Oppermann said. “But we’re super excited all the same.

“I think our defence has really picked up over the back half of the season, plus our speed in attack.

“We’re not the biggest team but we have a tight bond so that makes up for it.”

Ivanhoes know the challenge that lies ahead of them in the elimination final, with the side putting emphasis on a few key areas where they believe they have the edge over their rivals.

Winger Angel Hoare said her squad has focused on speed in attack over the past fortnight.

“Communication has also been key for us,” she said.

“We’ve been coming off the line well and playing the ball fast when we have it.”

While they are the most successful women’s side in FNQRL over the past five years, claiming three premierships in that time, a new-look Kangaroos might be proverbial fish out of water this weekend.

Kangaroos’ leader Rachel Abednego said her side will have a host of players who are new to playing senior women’s finals footy.

“We’re missing a lot from our original squad through the Northern Pride, but that’s just a new opportunity for some other girls to step up,” she said.
