WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR

While Lake Ginninderra stepped up their game to another level during the tournament last year, there was a human highlight reel from Brisbane State High who kept stealing the headlines.

Roman Siulepa put on a dunking clinic on the Gold Coast and has since gone on to become a stand-out performer in the NBL1 North competition.

So who will be the tournament break out in 2023, and can Lake Ginninderra do the double again?

The early suggestion is Lake Ginninderra has struck a strong balance of local talent and players from the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence, and will be determined to complete the hat trick of Championship success in the boys’ tournament.

But they will face some stiff opposition with Newington College, Rowville Secondary College and The Southport School all registering impressive line-ups.

In the girls’ tournament, the most dominant school of the past decade, Victorian giants Rowville, will be determined to reclaim their spot on top of the mountain.
