Live stream: Basketball NSW and KommunityTV join forces to cover Junior Premier League, State Cup

Basketball NSW and KommunityTV have joined forces to showcase two of biggest junior tournaments in the state over the next three weeks - the Premier League finals and State Cup.

And it all begins this weekend with the three-day Junior Premier League finals at the Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre.

It’s the culmination of a season which began way back in March and features the top clubs in Sydney and some of the best from regional and country areas.

The finals feature two teams who have gone through the season unbeaten - Norths Bears U14 boys and Illawarra Hawks U16 girls. The Hawks team features the likes of Addison Bonham, Alina Pasakarnis and Molly Coble who all appeared at the recent U16 Nationals for NSW Country.

Action tips off at 5pm on Friday night and KTV has you covered for LIVE action on three courts, with Illawarra Hawks facing Hills Hornets in the U16 Girls, city rivals Norths Bears playing Manly Sea Eagles (16 Boys) and Bankstown Bruins taking on Sydney Comets (16 boys).

Saturday features a marathon 24 games from Courts 1, 5 and 6, with the last games finishing up around 9.30pm.

It all start bright and early at 8am, with Norths Bears facing Central Coast Rebels (14 Boys), Illawarra Hawks playing Hills Hornets (14 Girls) and Sydney Comets playing Norths Bears (14 Girls).

The action on Sunday is reserved for finals, with 14 games scheduled, including every grand final in the U12, U14, U16 and U18 groups.

It’s a particularly important competition for up to nine U14 sides who are heading to Melbourne in September for the national club championships.

Norths Bears, Hills Hornets, Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Spiders and Penrith Panthers will represent the boys while Penrith, Central Coast Rebels, Manly Sea Eagles, Bankstown Bruins, Sutherland Sharks are the girls teams.

Competition switches out to the NSW central west on the weekend of August 17 and 18 for the prestigious State Cup.

Orange (U16 and U18) and Bathurst (U12 and U14) are the hosts and KommunityTV will cover the action from one court at each venue on both days.

That’s 14 games from Orange and 16 from Bathurst, including four grand finals on the Sunday afternoon.
