Arthy has made an instant impact, earning an invitation to train with the Dolphins academy as a non-contracted member and now winning a Queensland jersey following a bumper performance for South Coast at the state championships.

“He represented Western Australia as a 14- year-old in the national championships at Coffs Harbour last year,’’ explained Jay Wilkinson, Redcliffe SHS’s head of rugby league excellence program. “He has a natural ability to find the try line.’’

Concordia student Leroy Malone has signed with the Brisbane Broncos rugby league.

Malone, whose hero is Broncos fullback Reece Walsh, has penned a three year deal with the Broncos after initially being identified by the club in 2022.

The South Burnett town is the same one which also produced other league the champion like Steve Renouf, former international Willie Tonga, Chris Sandow (Souths, Parramatta), Leo Dynevor (Newcastle) and elite Q Cup talent like the Birds, Langtons and Georgetowns

Asked to best describe Malone’s traits, Queensland White coach Joshua Bretherton said “athletic, calm, flowing’’ were words which spring to mind.

1. Leroy Malone (Concordia Lutheran College)

A brilliant young talent who could play just about anywhere in the backline, Malone has been named at fullback where his athletic, flowing runner can be used. Watch this space.

2. Jonathan Alo (Redcliffe SHS)

This will be Alo’s second successive ASSRL championship campaign after playing for Queensland as an under age boy last season. A sky scraping centre, he has been named on the wing where he will throw his frame into kick returns, while being a target for attacking kicks from his halves.

3. Eru Gun-James (Kirwan SHS)

Gun-James is a gun all right, a fabulous outside back equally at home at fullback who will start in the centres for Queensland White. From that extraordinary Kirwan SHS rugby league production line, he is a goal kicker as well.

4. Kyron Arthy (Redcliffe SHS)

Arthy makes running the ball look easy. Thickly set, he breaks tackles consistently and has plenty of speed. He is a clear stand out in his age group, to such an extent there would have been an investigation launched had he not made one of the two state teams. He was elite when Redcliffe SHS upset Ipswich SHS last week in the Walters Cup.

5. Derek Ahwang (Ipswich Grammar School)

A dynamic finisher who is electric off the mark, a Mr Natural who runs the ball effortlessly. But he will also roll his sleeves up and work hard taking dummy half runs in traffic. He can play either wing or fullback or centre. Ahwang has always been a stunning junior talent who, three years ago, made the Shane Muspratt Cup Merit Team 2021 after a strong season with Cairns Brothers.

6. Manua Dau (Kirwan State High School)

Queensland White has an x-factor player in talent five-eight Manua Dau. A Bowen boy who attends that famous FNQ rugby league outpost of Kirwan SHS, the No.6 is great in space and can crack a game open for himself or a teammate. He has been making an impact in the Payne Cup this season for Kirwan.

7. Kingsley Bray (Brisbane SHS)

Kingsley will play halfback where his organising skills will come to the fore. He is calm, kicks well and is just a well organised No.7.

8. Isaac Salei (Wavell SHS)

His brother Lauloto Salei was a Queensland schoolboys 16-18 years representative two years ago and now Isaac is continuing the tradition. While Lauloto was more of an edge or No.13, Isaac is more of a traditional prop but has similar high standards on and off the field. He will be a great squad member on tour.

Deshawn Compton from Keebra Park SHS.

9. Deshawn Compton (Keebra Park SHS)

A terrific little general with natural leadership qualities - he is the Keebra Park SHS junior captain - hooker Compton will be the man feeding his big, tough pack at the championships. He played his way into the side after a strong state championship performance, which included a man of the match award for South Coast.

10. Lennox Ngata-Faofua (Redcliffe SHS)

A likely looking talent from Redcliffe SHS, the big fellow will launch himself off the back foot with some explosive front row charges.

11. Cruz Molo (Wavell SHS)

Another well know name at Wavell SHS - his relatives Francis and Michael play NRL for St George Illawarra - he is a tall, rangy, hard working kid on and off the field - a real pleasure to have around a touring squad such as this. He plays second row or No.13 and tackles strongly.

12. Kyanu Seiuli (Ipswich SHS)

One of the babies of the tournament, the 14-year-old back rower will work all day, and then work into the high as well. He is reliable, always performs and does his job consistently well.

St Mary’s Lachlan Hillman.

13. Lachlan Hillman (St Mary’s College)

One of two St Mary’s forwards in the side, the athletic Hillman gets through work but he also has a high footy IQ with the ball and can play shape. His hands will add nicely to the team’s variety around the ruck.

14. Darius Birve (Caloundra SHS)

This livewire dummy half will give Queensland plenty of spark off the bench. A hooker with the vision and hands of a half, Birve will spot a lazy marker and take that space, advancing his side down the field.

15. Ezekiel Filipi (Mabel Park SHS)

Originally a New Zealand lad, Filipi gives Queensland an explosive element to its bench. While he can find the tryline, the rookie was also a strong defender. Watch for him to contribute as either a lock or hooker.

16. Brooklyn Campbell (St Mary’s College)

In the true tradition of Darling Downs representative players, Campbell is an all effort middle forward. He is no giant, but is brave, makes lots of tackles and is a high effort forward. He will proudly flying St Mary’s flag at the championship.

17. Lucas Haack (St Patrick’s College)

A talented multi-talented sportsman who played representative hoker, the Mackay youngster is an athletic, high effort middle forward ideally suited for this campaign because of his work ethic. He is just what the doctor ordered.

18. Kingzen Lefono (Brisbane SHS)

A back rower from Brisbane State High School, Lefono is a textbook representative back rower - a broad shouldered, athletic type who is nimble as well as physical. He’s an excellent choice in this side.

19. Tamiana Fatiaki (Ignatius Park College)

A young gun fullback from the Souths club in Townsville, the Ignatius Park College student and has deservedly received a call up into the side after a strong state championship performance for Northern which included scoring three tries.

A rousing prop forward who is a traditional big body in the middle who dents the defensive line and gives his team momentum with his play the ball at the ruck.
