Hulk Hogan’s estranged ex-wife shared a sweet throwback picture of them just days before the wrestling star died from cardiac arrest.
She gushed about the “good old days” in the now-heartwrenching post four days before the 71-year-old WWE legend’s death.
Paramedics responded to reports of a cardiac arrest at Hogan’s $11.5 million home in Clearwater, Florida, on Thursday morning.
He was treated by first responders at the scene and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Hogan’s death comes just a month after the wrestling legend was reported to be on his deathbed and suffering from a series of health issues that left him unable to feel his legs.
Just days before Hogan’s death, his ex-wife Linda Hogan, who he was married to until 2009, shared a throwback picture of the couple at a convention in 1996.
In the picture, Linda stunned in a black dress as the couple embraced.
Hogan wore his iconic red and yellow Hulkster WCW costume, including his Hogan bandana over his bleach-blond hair, red pants, and yellow tank top.
“The good old days,” Linda wrote in the now-heartwrenching caption.
In the comments, fans gushed over the memories and said that they were praying for Hogan to recover from his health battle.
Hogan’s death came after years of health struggles exacerbated by his hard lifestyle of weight training and brawling in the WWE ring. J
Just last month, he was hospitalised for neck and back pain, sparking rumours that he was on his deathbed.
But despite his struggles, representatives maintained that the star was healthy and merely recovering from procedures.
On Tuesday, Hogan’s close personal friend and former manager Jimmy Hart gave a health update on X, saying, “Hulk is doing great, doing phenomenal!
“Last night at karaoke with Nick was absolutely fantastic, baby!”
Hulk and Linda
Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, was married three times throughout his life, and is survived by his current wife, yoga instructor Sky Daily.
Fans were most familiar with second wife Linda as they starred in the popular reality TV show Hogan Knows Best, which ran on VH1 from 2005 to 2007.
The two were married in 1983 in a wedding attended by longtime friends Andre the Giant and Vince McMahon.
They went on to have two children, Brooke and Nick, before Linda filed for divorce in 2007.
Linda had some bitter feelings toward her ex that she wasn’t afraid to share with the media.
In March, she posted a video online where she accused Hogan of being a “complete liar” and “sex addict.”
However, soon after this post, she admitted that despite their differences, Hogan was always a good father.
Health battle
Hogan suffered from chronic neck and back pain, and underwent surgeries to try and correct his issues, according to his wife Daily.
In February 2023, he was seen walking with a stick.
In a response to rumours that Hogan was in a coma last month, she said that “His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage. None of those rumours are true.”
On her Instagram Story, Daily said that her husband was recovering from a complex procedure.
“He’s been recovering from a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and [Fusion], which is an intense surgery with a long and layered healing process,” she wrote.
“If you look it up, you’ll see what the last six weeks have involved … not just for his spine, but also for his vocal cords, and the eating/breathing tubes that are clamped over during surgery.”
ACDF is used to treat pinched nerves in the neck by removing damaged discs and stabilising the spine.
Daily said her husband of nearly two years had been “in and out of the hospital” throughout his recovery and begged fans to stop spreading rumours.
“He’s healing and we’re taking it one day at a time with love, strength, and patience,” she said.
