RON DUFFICY’S ROSEHILL SNAPSHOT
RUN OF THE DAY
Press Statement is a no-nonsense good racehorse who just keeps getting the job done. He is one of these dream horses for trainers, jockeys, owners and punters that never gives you a moment of concern with his manners and racing style. He will be hard to beat in ANY race Chris Waller puts him in over the Autumn.
FORGET THEY RAN
Libran found himself in an awkward spot approaching the turn in the Parramatta Cup and had to duck and weave his way down the straight. Libran looks a strong stayer on the Sydney Cup trail and he’s the type of horse that would have appreciated an uninterrupted run home to wind up. Stick with him.
THE BLACK BOOK
Maurus resumed with scope to improve and in the end was beaten by how the race was run with the winner Himalaya Dream doing his own thing up front. He can be suitably placed in the coming months just off the top level when he steps up in distance.
RIDE OF THE DAY
Tommy Berry was all set to get rider of the day with his four wins until Blake Shinn produced a gem in the last on Coolring. Shinn’s ride was a classic case of a jockey not looking at the tote board before going out as he rode it like he was on an even money favourite in the Golden Slipper much to the disappointment of the supporters of Brook Road.
