Race 1 – Maiden Plate (1680m)
CONVO (3) is out of a champion mare but has missed the genes. She ran on to beat all but the winner in a stronger Maiden than this last start and has dropped back in trip. With a positive ride from Kyle Wilson-Taylor she gets her chance.
LADY MATILDA (4) was never on the track but hit the line at the Sunshine Coast when resuming. The extra distance is no concern and while she has convictions, her time may be nigh.
Visors replace blinkers on SIBEILA (6) which led them up at Doomben before fading. The small field suits and they will leave her alone in front at their peril.
Blinkers go back on GRAPE EXPECTATIONS (1) which has had a change of stables and a recent trial. His form is less than flattering but a change is as good as a holiday and Michael Rodd can make a difference.
Verdict – CONVO (3) won’t find an easier one.

Race 2 – 3YO Maiden Plate (1680m)
CHAYSE ‘N’ LIESA (1) is fitter for three outings and wasn’t helped by a wide gate last start. The barrier gods have been kinder and out of a mare that has thrown milers, this trip suits. Georgina Cartwright stays on, and a positive ride has him in the finish.
DUBIAS MISS (7) led them up and was only collared late by the stablemate here last start on a heavy track. Angela Jones stays on and from the wide gate it will be handlebars down from the outset.
Blinkers go on FOREVER FORTUNE (2) which has been brought north to get a result and was beaten a long way into third on a heavy track at his first Queensland outing. Firmer ground, gate one and Ryan Maloney are all positives.
The stablemate PEAR BELLINI (8) is knocking on the door placing at both Queensland outings. The gate tests but Kyle Wilson-Taylor will have her hitting the line.
Verdict – Having something on CHAYSE ‘N’ LIESA (1).

Race 3 – 2YO Handicap (1100m)
GUAC ON (1) appreciated the firmer ground and got the Maiden out of the way at Doomben last start. He rises 2kg but is a promising type and can go on with it.
RITUALIZE (2) lived up to his trials and handled the heavy ground better than the rest on debut. He rises 2kg but will get all the favours with Kyle Wilson-Taylor from the ace.
Blinkers go on YUNA IS PIERATA (3) which found Listed level beyond him last start but was dominant here on debut. Jag Guthmann-Chester replaces the apprentice Cody Collis, and he can bounce back.
GREEN SPRING (6) has come north for debut after three solid Sydney trials. He s drawn awkwardly but gets a crossover noseband and with Ryan Maloney a strong debut is expected.
Verdict – Upside with GUAC ON (1).

Race 4 – Maiden Handicap (1200m)
KING BOOM (2) was unwanted in the market but ran a bold race on debut to beat all but the winner. He rises 2kg but Emily Lang stays on and will be hard to pass.
POROTO (4) has come north, changed stables and been gelded. Out of a Group 2 winning mare, he may want longer but looked good at a recent trial and from gate three Boris Thornton will find out what he’s got.
HAPPY WINGS (8) had support at debut but found early trouble, got her head up and never got a clear crack in the straight. Andrew Mallyon replaces Damien Thornton, a crossover noseband goes on and will be hitting the line.
SNITZOND (3) has done all but win at both outings since coming north. The gate tests but Kyle Wilson-Taylor knows what to do.
Verdict – KING BOOM (2) maps better than the rest.

Race 5 – Benchmark 68 Handicap (1500m)
Hard to go past QUOTHQUAN (1) which has won both previous outings here and was far from disgraced in Saturday grade last start in a higher Benchmark than this. He rises 2kg with Cobi Vitler’s claim and this trip may be his limit, but from a good gate will be given every chance.
It has been a while between drinks for TOO HARD TO REFUSE (5) but he is fitter for two outings in Saturday grade, has raced well here previously and will appreciate Cody Collis’ 2kg claim. He makes his own luck and fresh after a six-week break will be hard to pass.
NEW JOY (4) got the job done at Toowoomba when resuming and has won here previously. Emily Lang replaces Madeleine Wishart; the extra distance suits and she will be close enough if good enough.
RASHFORD (7) was never in it from a wide gate when resuming but improves second up, gets to the right trip and has won twice here previously. He gives a start but draws to do no work and with Tahlia Fenlon’s 2kg claim can make his presence felt.
Verdict – Trusting QUOTHQUAN (1) to run the journey.

Race 6 – Class 4 Handicap (1680m)
Expecting a better effort from DOWNEY (3) which was never a threat in Saturday grade last start when having his first outing over 1600m but has strong Toowoomba form and is better suited here. His dam won up to 1800m, he drops 5.5kg and Cody Collis will have him in the firing line throughout.
A better draw helps SUPER CHILLED (2) which was never on the track last start, got held up on the turn and had the ride queried by stewards. Ryan Maloney replaces Andrew Mallyon and while she lacks a bit of dash, won here four starts back and won’t be far away in running.
A wide gate tests TEXAS FIREBALL (5) which placed in Saturday grade two starts back and beat all but Express Payment at Doomben last start. Andrew Mallyon stays on, he drops 3kg and will be strong late.
TYNDRUM GOLD (1) won a Class 5 here three starts back but has battled subsequently. Winning rider Kyle Wilson-Taylor gets back on, and he will be well-placed throughout.
Verdict – DOWNEY (3) has more to offer than the rest.

Race 7 – Bat Out Of Hell Handicap (1100m)
WANDA ROX (2) has an excellent record at this trip and won her only previous outing here. She has done nothing wrong in three starts since resuming. Noel Callow replaces Mark Du Plessis and she is the one to beat
There are two of NETTUNO (1) which has been competitive in better races than this but didn’t give a yelp when resuming in the Ascot Handicap. A wide gate tests but the 1100m suits, Ryan Maloney replaces Damien Thornton and if the real deal turns up will be hard to hold out.
ECONOMICS (8) would prefer 1000m but has won at this trip and drops 8.5kg from his last start win in easier grade at Eagle Farm. From gate two he will be prominent for a long way.
HARDWARE LANE (3) goes well at this track and likes this trip but needs the sting out of the ground. He has been kept fresh by a recent trial and gets the gun run with Bailey Wheeler.
Verdict – WANDA ROX (2) hard to pass.

Race 8 – Class 4 Handicap (1200m)
A winner of four of seven before coming north GIVE GIGGLES (2) has yet to win one for Tony Gollan but put the writing on the wall when resuming and drops 2.5kg. She can be risky at the start and has a wide gate, but Emily Lang stays on and knows what to do.
The inside draw assists THE GAMBLING GREEK (8) which was ridden upside down last start when resuming from a freshen-up. He brings strong Saturday form, Kyle Wilson-Taylor replaces the apprentice Cobi Vitler, and he will be on the speed for a long way.
An ex-Godolphin galloper, RESTONICA (3) was too strong for a Class 2 field here last start and won’t mind the step up to 1200m. He drops 3.5kg, and Cody Collis will have him well-placed throughout.
A good gate helps TARPS (7) which drops 5.5kg on last start and has the speed to make his presence felt.
Verdict – GIVE GIGGLES (2) is due.

Race 9 – Benchmark 68 Handicap (1200m)
Matt Dunn has MIDORI BEAUTY (2) fitter for three outings, and he wasn’t far away in a good Saturday Class 3 last outing. Andrew Mallyon stays on, and he will be hard to hold out.
The ace draw benefits MAYNE (11) which worked hard from a wide gate and only faded late when resuming. He drops 1.5kg, Jag Guthmann-Chester replaces Ryan Maloney, and he will be near the speed for a long way.
Bailey Wheeler replaces the apprentice Cobi Vitler on I AM A MARVEL (6) which gave too much start last outing. He has won here previously and with a positive ride will be in the finish.
LUMENS LENNY (13) was never on the track at Doomben but boxed on well. He drops back to his optimum trip and with Georgina Cartwright will be well-placed throughout.
Verdict – MIDORI BEAUTY (2) is ready to win.
