MOREE INSIDE MAIL
RACE 1: MAIDEN HANDICAP (1200m)
Nation Changing is a first starter by Cosmic Force from the Melanie O’Gorman stable. Sat second about three lengths off the leader before extending smartly to score by over four lengths in his Armidale trial win on Feb 27. Iknowyou stated in the market in both runs. Was awkwardly placed on heels when seventh over 1000m at Walcha on debut and boxed on OK when third to Cascan over 1400m at Armidale last week. Territory Day has claims on his two fourth placings at Dubbo and Tamworth.
Bet: Nation Changing to win
RACE 2: MAIDEN PLATE (950m)
Enniroc debuted with a three length third Chinqui as a $41 shot at Moe last August after leading. Resumed for a new stable and just caught late by Northern Boogie when favourite at Armidale last Thursday. Will be improved by the run. Immortal Lass is another former Victorian who placed third in her three runs down south. Sat wide and wasn’t pushed when last in her Tamworth trial on Feb 1. Watch betting. Wanavan debuted in the Star Kingdom at Muswellbrook last May when last behind Don’t Forget Jack after racing keenly. Will take improvement from his Scone trial third last week.
Bet: Enniroc to win
RACE 3: MAIDEN PLATE (1400m)
Zougo Boss didn’t handle the tricky Quirindi track when down the order here on Feb 21. Was bumped at the 150m when runner-up to Take It All at Tamworth the start prior. Nose roll off and blinkers on for the first time. Looks a solid each-way chance. Sirius Flyer is due for a win after placing in four of her six starts with three of them seconds. Beat all bar Banyan Tree at Mudgee on Feb 23. Runner-up her only start here behind Memessi. Tainui has been good in his only two starts. Was under a length behind Untold Story when runner-up on debut at Armidale and a similar margin when second to Rockbarton Angel at Quirindi from wide gate.
Bet: Zougo Boss each-way
RACE 4: CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1300m)
Winged was held up on the rails and was bumped passing the 200m and lost a few lengths when ninth at Armidale last start. Closed well for third at Tamworth before that. Snatchreilly had solid provincial form before resuming for a new stable with a handy second under 61kg at Walcha on Feb 7. Has a big weight again but the 2kg claim can make the difference. Marine Girl tracked the leader and got her head out to win on debut on the tricky Quirindi track on Feb 21.
Bet: Winged to win
RACE 5: BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (1200m)
Kimberley Moon took benefit of a first-up run when she went back-to-back at Gunnedah and the Beaumont. Stepped up to a Highway at Canterbury when eighth to Kaihoko. Back in grade and drawn nicely. Key Legend has won three of his last five, the latest a handy win from Yukanuma over 1420m under 61kg at Grafton on Feb 21. Drops back in trip. Dune And Dusted is knocking on the door for another win after two close seconds and a handy fourth from his last three starts.
Bet: Kimberley Moon to win
RACE 6: BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (950m)
Lizzie’s Gem has been just behind the placegetters in both runs back from a break. The latest behind Fuld’s Doubt and Kantishna at Tamworth on Feb 14. Back in grade. Super Sioux won first-up at Tamworth last preparation and again two starts later at Mendooran. Led and not pushed when fourth in her Tamworth trial on Jan 22. Arafura Sea is first-up from a spell without an official trial. Drawn nicely in gate two and has finished second first-up previously.
Bet: Lizzie’s Gem to win
RACE 7: BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1600m)
Mimessi won well at Coffs Harbour then was unable to be tested when sixth at Inverell both circa 1600m. Stepped up to 2200m when third a Grafton his last two starts. Freshened and back to the mile. Kalahari Heart will appreciate the drop back in grade from her sixth to Fiorsum Fred at Tamworth and fourth behind Mazita at Armidale. Waitapu struggled to find clear running entering the straight when fourth to Tavanasia at Quirindi last start. Placed second his only run here.
Bet: Mimessi to win
