FOUR-PLAY: $200 BETTING STRATEGY

RACE 4: GROUP 3 ZEDITAVE STAKES (1200m)

$50 win LOFTY ARCH (1) at $3.80

Won two of three starts in first racing campaign including the Listed Gothic Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield, albeit on heavy track. Fast and firm conditions Saturday but the Snitzel colt has above average ability and should go very close to winning this first-up despite a wide draw. Lofty Arch defeated subsequent Listed winner Certain Rise on debut last year. Champion jockey Craig Williams aboard a sign of intent and potential.

RACE 7: GROUP 1 FUTURITY STAKES (1400m)

$50 win MR BRIGHTSIDE (1) at $2

Mindful of I WISH I WIN (2), the only threat to Mr Brightside on Saturday, but the champion should be too good here. Mr Brightside has won five of seven starts second-up previously. Collared late first-up in the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) when left in front a sitting duck at the top of the straight. CF Orr winner Another Wil and Mr Brightside finished the best part of five lengths ahead of the rest of the field.

RACE 8: GROUP 1 BLUE DIAMOND STAKES (1200m)

$25 each-way PALM ANGEL (9) at $8/$2.80

Turned the tables on MY GLADIOLA (11) last start in the Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) and won quite softly at the finish. Drawn to get an economical run from barrier one behind the speed. Luck in the straight going to be critical – for all runners to be fair. Yulong colts TYCOON STAR (2) and DEVIL NIGHT (5) should be improvers at each-way quotes. FIELD OF PLAY (1) a deserved favourite after back-to-back wins.

RACE 9: GROUP 1 OAKLEIGH PLATE (1100m)

$25 each-way I AM ME (1) at $11/$3.50

Fancied in the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes (1000m) last Saturday at Flemington but scratched before the race after repeated rain showers and track downgrades. Flies fresh and most importantly gets the fast and firm ground she wants. Drawn to lead and could be incredible hard to get past in the straight. Placed in only start at Caulfield – runner-up to Magic Time in the 2023 Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m). Each-way special.

QUADZILLA

LEG 1 - RACE 7

No prizes for guessing selections here. MR BRIGHTSIDE (1) the obvious one. Could easily be one out but respect I WISH I WIN (2), has worked incredible well in preparation for a return to racing. Trainers Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman intend to scratch I Wish I Win should the track be upgraded to a Good 3. Expect Godolphin pair PERICLES (3) and TOM KITTEN (4) to run well but no match for Mr Brightside.

1ST LEG: 1, 2

LEG 2 - RACE 8

PALM ANGEL (9) has the weapons to fire in the Blue Diamond from the low draw. Will need luck in the straight but has the explosive turn of foot required to figure in the finish. TYCOON STAR (2) pick of the Victorian colts, set to peak on Saturday after a nice albeit luckless run in the Prelude. DEVIL NIGHT (5) a definite threat. Wrong part of the track last start second in the Prelude. Include FIELD OF PLAY (1), TENTYRIS (4), MISS CELINE (12) and CHERISH ME (14).

2ND LEG: 1, 2, 4, 9, 12, 14

LEG 3 - RACE 9

I AM ME (1) has conditions to suit – fast and firm – on Saturday. One ride on the card for jockey Nash Rawiller could be all the Sydney-based Victorian needs in pursuit of his 72nd Group 1 triumph and second Oakleigh Plate after Sudurka (2002). ESTRIELLA (2) has the speed to lead and win, while REY MAGNERIO (5) should be charging late along with SHE’S BULLETPROOF (15).

3RD LEG: 1, 2, 5, 15

LEG 4 - RACE 10

DENY KNOWLEDGE (1) is the class horse and could lead them a merry dance in the Listed Victoria Gold Cup (2000m) despite being first-up. Lived in the Group 1 arena last campaign and won the Caulfield Stakes (2000m) second up. DASHING DUCHESS (8) finished like a train in the Group 3 JRA Plate last start. POSITIVITY (7) undefeated second-up including a 2000m Group 3 win last spring.

4TH LEG: 1, 7, 8
