CANTERBURY
SPORTSMAN: CANTERBURY PREVIEW
BRAD DAVIDSON (Daily Telegraph)
KANDINSKY
Race 4, No. 3
Half-brother to Group 1 winner Nechita was an impressive winner on debut in November. Has had three trials in the lead up to his return and should go close fresh.
JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph)
POUND STERLING
Race 6, No. 8
Is a good honest, tough gelding and attractively weighted here with the three kilogram claim for James P Innes. Has finished on the heels of the winners at past two city attempts and can go a couple better here.
SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman)
RILLITO
Race 7, No. 4
This daughter of Street Cry is 3s 2-0-1. She resumed on November 7 last year and won at Beaumont by five lengths. Three weeks later she was at MV and won a Bm70 by 0.2-lengths but that’s a huge leap to make, narrow margin or otherwise. Her two trials have been amazingly good, one easy fourth, then a brilliant win in successive 1050m heats.
WARRNAMBOOL
SPORTSMAN: WARRNAMBOOL PREVIEW
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun)
LAVISH MACTAVISH
Race 8, No. 3
Loves it wet. Going to take beating as he aims to make it four on end.
