WEDNESDAY MEETINGS: Morphettville (9 races, 12.38pm), Doomben (8 races, 12.52pm), Pakenham (8 races, 1pm), Canterbury (7 races, 1.15pm), Belmont (7 races, 3.04pm).

CHEEKY BABE (Race 5, No. 4)
Cheeky Babe resumes here but has been primed for this race with two barrier trials, including her heat win at Warwick Farm five weeks ago. She settled outside the leader in that trial and cruised home to score narrowly but impressively. Promising filly Cheeky Babe goes well fresh, she has drawn the rails barrier and only needs even luck in running to prove the one to beat.

RYE
Race 7, No. 5
This gelding is very close to a win and can send the Chris Waller followers home on a winning note. Liked the way he hit the line when fourth over 1550m here last start and is now near peak form after three runs back from a spell. The 1900m suits admirably, he has won over this course and distance and we all know how well Rory Hutchings is riding.
PAKENHAM
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun)
DISSEMINATE
Race 1, No. 6
Well bred filly who showed a lot of talent at her debut when close-up fourth at Sandown in strong race in early January. Resumes here and has top claims.

CARDLESS CASH
Race 8, No. 6
The Encosta De Lago gelding, who is a half-brother to dual Group 2 winner Whitefriars, is one of the most interesting runners at Doomben on Wednesday. Cardless Cash clocked a quicker overall time than the Benchmark 70 (1200m) on the same day when winning a Pakenham Maiden (1200m) on May 15 and also posted the quickest last 200m split (11.20s) on the program for good measure. Needs a good performance to qualify for Hong Kong and should be hard to beat providing the track isn’t too wet. His former trainer told me he is not at home on a genuine wet track.
