WEDNESDAY MEETINGS: Sandown — Lakeside (8 races, 1pm), Canterbury (7 races, 1.45pm), Gold Coast (8 races, 1.23pm), Strathalbyn (8 races, 1.38pm), Bunbury (8 races, 3.05pm). AEST Times.
CANTERBURY
NIC ASHMAN (Daily Telegraph)
SERENA’S PRIDE (Race 2, No. 9)
Quality filly that looks to have improved nicely over her break. She has trialled well, looks fit enough for this first-up and could book a ticket to Queensland with a strong win. It looks a race in two and would suggest having a saver on Sezanne.
STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph)
VIADUCTRESS
Race 4, No. 2
Was far from disgraced when first-up 4th at Kembla Grange (Metro) on March 23. Finished too strongly for solid win over 1200m at Warwick Farm on April 13. In top form and looks hard to beat again.
SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman)
FLASH OF INNOCENCE
Race 4, No. 8
The daughter of Lonhro and G2 winner Truly Wicked was a nose winner (from the back) in a Gosford 1100m maiden on December 31 (smashing win!). Tipped out, then trialled like a bomb in a deep heat at Randwick on April. 16.
SANDOWN (Lakeside)
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun)
MARAUDAMISS
Race 4, No. 3
Member of the flying Mick Kent stable and has won three of her past four starts. Came home nicely, gaining runs through the field to win at Ballarat last start. Takes on own sex in this.
STRATHALBYN
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser)
ITZ INVINCIBLE
Race 4, No. 1
Boom youngster from last winter who won smartly on debut before starting favourite and being run down at Morphettville at his second outing. Returned in August with a good effort behind Evil Dreams and hasn’t been sighted since. Nice type who should take beating.
