Grand Slam-winning jockey Craig Williams has been booked to partner fairytale horse Far Too Easy in the $2m The Kosciuszko.
Williams, a 78-time Group 1 winner, was set to jet to Queensland’s Gold Coast on Monday to put the David McColm-trained Far Too Easy through its paces at a barrier trial on Tuesday morning.

Far Too Easy is the horse who survived deadly floodwaters rampaging through his Murwillumbah stables and was so critically ill with colitis earlier this year that a tearful McColm hugged him and said a final goodbye.
Far Too Easy made a miraculous comeback when resuming at Eagle Farm last month and is the $7 third pick for next Saturday’s Kosciuszko which is one of the features on Everest day at Randwick.
“Craig Williams is going to ride my horse,” McColm told Racenet on Monday.
“He trials tomorrow (Tuesday) on the Gold Coast and Craig is flying up to ride him.
“And then he will jump on him on race day.
“Craig reached out to me last year, he was toying with the idea that if we went to the Stradbroke he may consider the ride.
“So we have been in contact all year and then when this came up his manager contacted me.”

Far Too Easy carried a big weight to finish fourth on resuming at Eagle Farm and McColm is convinced he will be on song for The Kosciuszko tilt.
“I know he is going to run a good race but if we can get a bit of rain and the Randwick track can get into the soft range, I will be over the moon,” McColm said.
Far Too Easy finished third behind Front Page in last year’s The Kosciuszko and he finished second behind the same horse the previous year.
