ROSEHILL

Track: Soft 5. Rail: Out 7m 1500m to Winning Post, Out 3m remainder

RACE 1

Overview: Open race as usual with these TAB Highways. King’s Trust has been racing well in this grade and he should be strong late at 1300m. Russley Crown, Dubbo Wanderer, Warrah Flash, Kelvedon Road, Zaru and Daksha are all likely to have admirers and the chances don’t end there.

Betting Advice: Plenty of hopes here. King’s Trust runs on late.

RACE 2

Overview: Tricky race with a few of these resuming. Waverider Buoy was good first up and then was caught wide here at Rosehill last start. True Crime has done nothing wrong to date and he just comes off a bit of a gut buster on the very heavy track at Randwick last start. Yoshino has won his past two starts in good style and must be respected, while Backrower has trialled nicely leading in and gets the shades on first up here.

Betting Advice: Even race but Backrower can run well at each-way odds.

RACE 3

Overview: Navajo Peak still needs to get a run but I like the way he has been hitting the line of late. The 1400m suits and he just has to get around Rosehill. Zou De Moon comes up with a tough draw but she was super impressive first up at Grafton. She just has to reproduce that now. Bullet Wing and Oxford Tycoon are both last start winners that also have claims here.

Betting Advice: Navajo Peak to win.

RACE 4

Overview: Conscript should find the front and he did get all the favours last start but this race shapes up as a similar scenario here. Katalin is a really good fresh mare and she just doesn’t want any rain in the lead up. She should go close if she gets a dry track. Munitions has been trialling well and should be up on speed here, while Dream Circle probably should have won last start and also has claims.

Betting Advice: Conscript looks hard to run down but Katalin will be storming late if the track is dry.

RACE 5

Overview: Frumos has been super impressive in three starts to date and she looks like a mare with plenty of potential. She is likely to be back near last here but should be too classy late. Riduna, Tawfiq Lass (better on wet ground) and Fearnought will all have admirers but there’s no doubt Frumos is the best horse in the race and map issues seem her only hurdle to overcome.

Betting Advice: Frumos on top.

RACE 6

Overview: Titanium Power has been struggling with his big weights of late but he drops down to just 52kg here for the big rise in grade. He looks the only leader in the race and catches a lot of these first up at unsuitable distances for them. Oscar Zulu will appreciate a drier track and he should have won three starts ago over this distance at Randwick. No Compromise, Mugatoo and Surefire are three classy gallopers resuming but obviously their best distances are a lot longer than 1400m.

Betting Advice: Titanium Power looks hard to run down, while Oscar Zulu can improve sharply if the track is dry.

RACE 7

Overview: Decent race for the middle distance horses. Lovely Esteem hits this race fourth up and she looks ready to peak here. James McDonald stays aboard and she draws a nice gate. Elusive Jewel was a good last start winner at this track and distance and the low draw means she will do no work in the run again. Star Sparks should give them something to catch and also has each way claims due to his positive racing style and favourable map.

Betting Advice: Leaning to Lovely Esteem in an open race.

RACE 8

Overview: Fascinating edition of The Rosebud with a lot of these returning from a spell. Sebonack has trialled well leading in and he should get a good run throughout. Kibou has been pretty impressive in two runs since being gelded and he should find the front and prove hard to run down. Zoukerino was very impressive on debut on the Kensington track and while this is a big step up, he looks to have plenty of ability. The Godolphin duo, Spacewalk and Troach, will also have plenty of admirers.

Betting Advice: Boxed trifecta 1,3,5,6,11.

RACE 9

Overview: Kalino has been going pretty well this prep and James McDonald stays aboard here. He looks to get a decent enough run in transit and should be in the finish. New Republic was in an unsuitable race fresh and he was held up late in the piece. The extra trip is a big plus and he isn’t hopeless at massive odds. Marnix and Just A Jedi are sure to have admirers as well.

Betting Advice: Kalino the one to beat. New Republic runs well at odds.

RACE 10

Overview: Hard to tip against Shades Of Rose here and she was ultra impressive last start. She can be a touch slow away but there isn’t much speed here and she can cross and prove hard to catch. Quick Tempo’s two runs back from a spell have been encouraging and he finds the in form Dylan Gibbons here. The Big Easy did beat Shades Of Rose last start and meets her better at the weights for doing so, while Zarastro has been gelded and may improve sharply but he is still misbehaving at the trials.

Betting Advice: Shades Of Rose the one to beat but The Big Easy is big odds all the same.
