Sixteen Queenslanders have been picked in the 40-man development squad that will come together in Canberra later this month.

The squad will be trimmed to 26 ahead of matches against New Zealand Barbarians and New Zealand Secondary Schools at the start of October.

Some of the top highlight reel players in schoolboy rugby this year have been Nick Conway (Nudgee College) and Tom Howard (Marist Ashgrove), as well as The Southport School prop Kingsley Uys.
