GOLD Coast Marathon organisers have expressed full confidence in runners taking anticipated wild winds and showers across the weekend in their stride.
Events Management Queensland general manager Cameron Hart still had high hopes for the Gold Coast Marathon and its 28,000 runners across the weekend.

“With the very high-calibre fields that we have lining up this weekend, we expect some terrific racing at the 2019 Gold Coast Marathon, whatever the weather,” he said.

There is a strong wind warning for Saturday, with a peak wind gust recorded at 70km per hour at the Seaway about 6am yesterday.
There is only expected to be a small amount of rainfall Saturday, estimated to measure about 2-5mm, with about 1-3mm on Sunday.
