The next Jennifer Hawkins, Kyly Clarke or Brooke Evers could be among the 24 2014 Miss V8 Supercars national finalists who gathered poolside at the Mercure Resort Gold Coast yesterday to show off their new Grid Suits and Wild Orchid bikinis.
Selected from a field of more than 900 hopefuls from throughout Australia and New Zealand, the girls are being ferried in stretch Hummers to and from a seriously hectic round of events in the lead up to Sunday’s Gold Coast 600 race.
From VIP parties to a charity breakfast, volleyball games with the drivers, a performance driving centre experience and dinner at Vapianos, the race ambassadors will be kept busy right up until they take their place on the grid for the drivers’ parade ahead of the start of Sunday’s main race.
In between, the girls will undergo five rounds of judging — two sessions in swimwear, one in sportswear, an interview session and a round of photos — before the 2014 Miss V8 Supercars winner is named on track in the Club 600 precinct on Saturday at 5pm.
The winner’s prize pool includes a trip to an international motor sports event, a diamond ring, a Too Fat Bike, a V8 Action Illustrated magazine shoot and sponsored prizes from Skin 02,
FILA, Juice for thirsty hair, Chevron Island Tan, Transformation Inc., Wild Orchid Swimwear, Mr & Mrs Smith Photography, Birdcage Stylist, Lift Watches, 1 Zee and Dress the Bones.
The winner will also be the cover girl for Miss V8 Supercars 2015.
