Surfers Paradise have capped a successful weekend for Gold Coast clubs in the FFA Cup, joining four other local teams as Round 2 winners this afternoon.

FIVE Gold Coast clubs have progressed to Round 3 of the FFA Cup after wins in SEQ preliminary fixtures over the weekend.
Fairytale Round of 32 participants last season, Coomera edged out Noosa 3-2 on the road on Saturday while fellow Gold Coast Premier League side Palm Beach easily accounted for Westside Grovely 4-0 at home.
A third Premier League outfit, Surfers Paradise, joined them this afternoon with a 3-1 win away to Ripley Valley.

Coast League One heavyweights Musgrave produced the most stunning result of the weekend, thrashing hosts Bribie Island 12-0 on Saturday, with Runaway Bay thumping Caboolture 6-1 at home.
But it wasn’t all good news for local teams, with Tweed United falling 1-0 to Jimboomba United, Tallebudgera Valley losing 6-0 to Gympie United after trailing 6-0 at halftime, and Brighton beating Pacific Pines 3-0.

Broadbeach United, Southport, Burleigh Heads, Robina City, Kingscliff and Nerang will also compete in Round 3 games after byes in Round 2.
