Officials at Palm Beach Soccer Club have launched a desperate plea for vandals to leave their club alone as the damage bill climbs into thousands of dollars.
The club’s dressing sheds were broken into two weeks before vandals again attacked the club on Monday, destroying a set of a goalposts the club had left open for children to play with during isolation.
“This has been a constant thing,” PBSC first grade coach Brett Pudwee said.
“There’s been an onset since isolation, it’s quiet so the vandals must think it’s a prime time to get in and get stuff.
“It’s disappointing because it’s the kids and the players who are affected.”

The club has six complete sets of goalposts at the Nineteenth Avenue home ground but opted against locking them away so the community could continue to exercise on the park.
The vandals’ actions will force the club to reconsider that stance.
“It costs hundreds of dollars to repair these goals, so if there is anyone who (vandalises them) we’ll be apprehending them,” Pudwee warned.
“At any time it’s the kids who kicking into the nets but someone has decided to destroy it.
“Really our appeal is to the community that it’s the kids, they are the ones who lose.”
