Gold Coast teams prepare for Round 2 FFA Cup fixtures as rain forces postponement of NPL openers

One of the fairytales of last season after reaching the national Round of 32, Coomera will be hoping for more success when they travel to Noosa at 3pm on Saturday.

The game is one of seven Saturday matches featuring Gold Coast teams, including Premier League side Palm Beach, who will host Westside Grovely at 4pm.

SHARKS SNAP UP TRIO FOR PREMIER LEAGUE CAMPAIGN

A win for the Sharks could set up an all-Coast tie in Round 3 against Tallebudgera Valley, who play away to Gympie at 5pm.

Last season’s Premier League runners-up, Surfers Paradise, will travel to Ripley Valley at 4pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, rain has forced the postponement of Gold Coast United’s and Gold Coast Knights’ NPL openers this weekend.

United were due to face Olympic at Goodwin Park at 6pm today, while the Knights were set to travel to Brisbane Strikers last night.

The two Coast sides will now meet in Round 2 at 6pm on Saturday at Tallebudgera’s Coplick Family Sports Park.
